A village full of events
There is something happening in Mathildedal all year round. Easter traditionally marks the start of the spring and summer season. In May, Ruukkipäivä – a day focused on crafts, art and local food – is celebrated.
In summer, the village hosts, among other things, a cider festival and a wooden boat festival, along with art exhibitions, live music, summer theatre and the traditional Matilda Rock weekend.
This year, the programme also includes a poetry weekend and Matilda Pride. During the autumn holiday, ghosts take over the village at the same time as the Pumpkin Weeks are celebrated in Salo.
The best handmade Christmas gifts and seasonal treats can be found at the traditional Christmas market at Mathildedal Ironworks. The beautifully lit village offers a genuine festive atmosphere.
